Home learning 9th July 2021

Dear year five,

Once again you have shown me, the school, your family and yourselves how resilient, resourceful and reflective you all are. I am very proud to be your teacher. Well-done on reaching the weekend but first we have a full day of home learning ahead before we can rest over the weekend.  First a bit of house keeping. You (well your parents) can now collect your English books from the front office this will make writing your adventure story a bit easier. If you require more publishing sheets it might be an idea to write up on a computer and you can send it to me instead. We will still be using the same zoom link for all our zooms so I will see you 9:00am for a reading zoom. Please ensure you have watched all the reading videos for this week and have written your instructions for how to set a trap. Keep your Maya temples coming in, I was very impressed the ones you showed me on zoom. As always both zooms are compulsory, I know some people have given absence reasons but I need to know if you are attending zoom or excuse yourself through normal absent reporting procedures. Thank you.

Early Bird 8:30 – 9:00

I went over the answer for yesterday’s area question in yesterday’s zoom and the other questions are easily checkable via a calculator.

Today’s challenge – use known facts to help you solve these questions quickly.

Reading zoom and spelling check 9:00- 10:00 am

We will start with a spelling check and then review how to set a trap (if you watched the last reading video you will know)

I will then read a bit of the next chapter.

The rest of the zoom will depend if you picked up your English book. If you have you can get straight on with that or you stay on the zoom and I will help those who need some ideas. If you haven’t picked up your book then you edit either recount of your trip or your football report.
