If you need squared paper to recreate these grids then I will leave some in the school entrance, alternatively I can drop this off at home if you send me an email requesting this.

Word Power

–tion is the most common spelling. It is used if the root word ends in t or te.

–ssion is used if the root word ends in ss or –mit.

–sion is used if the root word ends in d or se.
Exceptions: attend – attention, intend – intention.

English

Please watch the video to 5:16 minutes!

The Professor is sure that 2, 3 and 5 are really significant in this film. He has explored everything around him to see if he can figure out why they are so important!

Today I want you to be like the professor and for you to explore these numbers. Have a look around your home, and whilst you are outside; from there, create a list explaining all of the things that you think link to these numbers. For example, I would write down the following:

  • I am currently looking at my window and I can see the numbers in the window panes. There are 2 small panes at the top which relate to the number 2. Below these, I have 3 smaller window panes which relate to the number 3. I then figured out that if I add all the window panes together I will have 5 window panes.

Have you got maths eyes!?

Other tasks to complete throughout the day

Wellbeing Wake-up provides a boost of wellbeing to children through fun engaging activities. The sessions are aimed at primary aged children, parents/carers and education staff. The Bitesize sessions will be based around the 5 ways to wellbeing; connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give. Each video will include a short explanation for adults on why it is important to promote wellbeing, followed by a ‘wake up and shake up’ for children’s minds and bodies to become focused, finished with a interactive activity that can be carried out between the child and adult.
