LO: Can I use cohesive devices in an explanation text?

Today you will write your explanation text. Use my video, your notes and plan from yesterday and power point to write your explanation. The learning outcome is to use cohesive devices. You were very good at doing this yesterday so be daring and choose some ambitious ones. Use the word below to help.

Wednesday 3rd March

Word power

Please choose one activity a day and spend around 15 minutes a day practicing these words. They are all based on our new topic cracking contraptions words. We will have a spelling test on Friday.

Don’t forget our spelling check on Friday. We will be doing the check at 1pm on zoom but if you can’t make it then do it at another time. Once the check is completed please follow this link and tell me which ones you got right so we can celebrate.

Because it is reading week, we are going to push reading plus this week. Please log on and spend 20-30 minutes a day on reading plus. However, if for you reading has to be with a real book please pick up a text and don’t forget to let us all know your recommendations. You could take a picture of yourself ‘caught reading’ and send it in, when you do please let me know if you would like the picture putting on the website.

This afternoon

Please spend some time completing our reading challenges.

KS2 Reading Challenges and Tasks

PSHCE

For your learning in PSHCE I would like you to take some time and be reflective. Next week we are going to be going back to school. I want you to take some time this week to think about and reflect on this and have attached a story and a little activity to help.

Please read the story below carefully and think about your feelings about returning to school. I would like you to answer these questions in your English book then send me a photo. This way I can get back to you and answer any of your questions and support you with any worries you have.

1)What are you most excited about?

2)Is there anything you are worried about?

3)Have you got any questions that you want to ask or are unsure about?
